CompTIA finalizes coalition letter in support of Blockchain Promotion Act

The Technology Councils of North America (TECNA), of which TechND is a member, and the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) have finalized a coalition letter in support of the Blockchain Promotion Act that will be sent to congressional leadership.

H.R. 1361/S. 553, the Blockchain Promotion Act, would direct the Department of Commerce to establish a blockchain working group to recommend a consensus-based definition of blockchain technology. The working group would also consider recommendations for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to undertake a study that would examine the potential impact of blockchain on spectrum policy and opportunities for the adoption of blockchain to promote efficiencies in government.

The coalition is made up of 35 technology councils from 30 states, including TechND.
